Every guide on Pip Finds follows the same process. We want you to know precisely what our recommendations are based on, and what they are not.
1. We start with the question
Each guide is built around a specific need, such as a gentle cleanser for sensitive skin or a frying pan that works on an induction cooktop. That question decides what matters, so we compare products on the things you actually care about.
2. We gather the facts brands publish
For every product we consider, we read what the brand and the product listing say about ingredients or materials, sizes, compatibility, care instructions and directions for use. We use only information that is published for that specific product.
3. We compare like for like
We line products up against the need the guide is about and look for a clear reason to recommend each one. A good shortlist has picks for different situations, not five versions of the same thing.
4. We write down the trade-offs
Every pick comes with what stands out and what is worth knowing before you buy, such as a strong fragrance, a small bottle, hand-wash-only care or a lid that cannot go in the oven.
What we do not do
- We do not claim to have tested products we have not used. Our guides are research-based, and we say so.
- We do not invent facts. If a listing does not state something, such as a temperature limit or a percentage, we tell you it is not stated rather than guessing.
- We do not repeat medical claims. Skincare and hair care guides describe what products are formulated to do, not what they cure. For skin conditions or persistent symptoms, please see a dermatologist or doctor.
- We do not show prices. Prices on Amazon change often, so we send you to the current price instead of quoting one that may be out of date.
Updates and corrections
Products are reformulated, renamed and discontinued. We review guides regularly and update them when picks change. If you notice something that looks wrong, please tell us through our contact page and we will check it.
